About Susan Brown

A few years ago, my 73 year old father yelled out these four words while we were peacefully floating down the Wisconsin River, "I LOVE MY LIFE!" That sentiment reflects how I, too, live my life today. Although, it has not always been that way.

In December of 1996, I wrote down my intention for the upcoming year. I asked for inner peace, the kind that resides deep within you, comforts and informs you. A year later, I received the heart stopping news that I had breast cancer. I was shocked and feared for my life. I was a wife and mom with three young children ages five, seven and nine. I worried about my recovery and my ability to parent.

At that time, I vividly recalled wise words my mother told me when I was a teenager. Though they were not said during a calm and loving heart to heart discussion, I am sure they were well deserved. She told me quite emphatically: "Young lady, someday you will need God."

After my diagnosis, I found out right away that I did need God. In fact, I surrendered my healing to Him. In turn I received emotional and physical healing and an unexplainable feeling of peace. Just what I had asked for.

For the next year, I contended with tubes, scars, chemotherapy, countless doctors' visits, nausea, baldness, fear, loss of hope and feelings of isolation. I also experienced clarity of priorities, purpose, fullness of life, love, friendship, support and new ways of seeing and being. That experience turned out to be one of my greatest challenges and ironically brought blessing after blessing.

As part of my healing journey, I explored the integration of the body, mind and spirit. This has resulted in my becoming a specialist on how the mind works, the body heals and the spirit thrives. I now see and experience the world differently and know that magnificence surrounds me when my vision is clear and my heart is pure.

I have always known that I would teach and transform lives. My greatest challenges as an educator have come from working with students and teachers who operated from a lack of confidence, negative perspectives and a fear of their greatness. My greatest rewards have come from transforming those limiting beliefs into empowering thoughts and actions.

My passion has remained consistent throughout my life - helping people realize their full potential and live the life they desire and deserve. The dots of my life have led me to my present and perfect career, life coaching. I find it indescribably rewarding and exciting to help people transition from an old story or a stuck place in their life into a new life story filled with purpose, joy and success.
